tremembé
falls
The Maraú River thunders through Atlantic Rain Forest to meet the waters of the Camamu bay at the Tremembé Waterfalls. Great swimming and opportunity to view the extensive mangrove vegetation en route. This is one of the “must see, must do” excursions.
how it works
Morning departure and take to the calm waters of the Camamu bay, passing many of its islands and islets until arrival at the town of Maraú. We have a short walking tour of the quiet streets of this colonial town before boarding our vessel again and navigate through the inlets to the Tremembé Waterfall navigating through the tributaries of the extensive untouched mangroves, a feature of this part of Bahia, a region of great natural beauty.
Arriving at the falls we sense the power of the 200 foot wide falls as they cascade over long, sloping rocks, flanked with lush riverside vegetation, thundering directly into the bay. We have time to swim and enjoy the falls before departing for lunch (not Included) and return to hotel or pousada
